Makes sense after the Semien and Seager signings that he's kind of a redundant piece for them now.

Great glove, and very versatile.   He'd become a very good UT type if/when one of the SS prospects could claim the SS job.

Absolutely no pop in his bat, but he is a career .265 hitter who isn't an instant strikeout.

I think he makes sense, so long as the price isn't too high.

Depending on who the Rangers want in return he might be worth trading for even if he's a decent catcher which will allow the Yankees to not offer Sanchez a contract.

He's primarily a SS, so considering they just added Seager and Semien, they can afford to trade him.   He's also played a bunch at 3b.

He could be used as a 3rd/emergency catcher as well, but I don't think the Yankees want to get him to catch.     They want him as a SS.

I figure, I was just saying I wouldn't mind if they played him at catcher if he was decent at that position. I guess Yankee fans will know more by 8 PM tonight.

I haven't found a scouting report on him that isn't a bit old, but the stats from 2018 and 2019 suggest bad pitch framing with an average ability to throw out runners.
