A Didi & Yankees Reunion? It makes sense... - YouTube

Could he be a better version of the Odor move made last year?   Is this the Yankees' strategy in general?   Try and trade for whoever gets pushed out of the picture when the SS FAs get signed?   They are linked to Kiner-Falefa now that Texas has signed both Seager and Semien.   Could they also look at Didi if he gets squeezed in Philly?

I think there is at least a decent chance the Phillies could go for one of Story or Correa, and if so they'd almost certainly be looking to move Sir Didi (and probably need to eat a lot of his salary).

He was very solid in 2020, could he make a comeback in the Pinstripes after a subpar 2021?   There is just one year left on his contract so he could be a good placeholder for Peraza/Volpe.

I'm sure we can find someone who hit better than .209 last year.

NO. Maybe we should also call Youk up to play 3rd, and Ells to roam CF.

He will be just 32 in 2022.   He put up a 120 OPS+ in 2020, just one year ago.

There may be some gas left in Didi's tank.

He's played 82, 60 and 103 games the last 3 years often injured. I like Didi but that ship has sailed, There are many other options.

I was sorry they let him leave, but I definitely don't want to see him back.

60 games was a full 2020 season.

If the Yankees are looking for a shortstop for 1 year, they might as well leave Gio there. Gio at SS and DJ at 3B leaves 1B open for the Yankees to either re-sign Rizzo or trade for Olson. Yanks should trade Voit.

An INF of DJLM, Gio, Torres and Voit would probably be competitive for a WC spot.  I don't think Hal feels he needs to spend money to be better than that.

But with Voit at 1B, the Yankees are too right-handed. If he had the talent of Tony Perez it wouldn't matter that he was right-handed, but he's not on that talent level.
