How the dual-ball season may have affected the Yankees - Views from 314 Ft. It's water under the bridge at this point, but does this present some hope that the Yankee offense in general may improve in 2022? And what a horrible job by MLB to not only have 2 different varieties of balls used in the same season, but to give some teams more dead ones than other teams.

I find this dead ball discussion a bunch of you know what. Does it matter when guys are constantly swinging and missing. Does it matter when guys are lunging at balls in the dirt on the outside part of the plate. Does it matter when guys are lunging and hit weak ground balls to SS and 3B that end up making this team the one that grounded into the most DPs? I am not sure what people were watching this past year. I know I saw a bunch of undisciplined hitters swinging for the fences and sometimes losing their balance as a result in the batter's box. Also if they are using the dead balls more in YS would it not impact the visiting team as well. It sure didn't seem to bother Toronto when they swept that 4 game series from us and were clubbing the ball all around. Enough with excuses, get players who can make contact and get on base.

It matters when Stanton hit what appeared to be 2 no doubt home runs and they both stay in the park during the WC game.

First the game was in Boston not YS. In any case it didn't stop the Red Sox from hitting homers that night. So what they only use the dead balls when we are up? If I recall we hit 2 homers that night as well. Fact is we only got 4 other hits that game. Hard to score when you don't get guys on base.

The statement didn't indicate it was limited to only home games and who knows how the baseballs were manipulated all I'm saying it could've been a factor that night.
