Trump didn't sign this newly unearthed 2020 election EO. We need to know why.

The existence of the draft executive order doesn’t prove Trump entered into an illegal conspiracy. But it does raise questions the House's Jan. 6 committee must investigate.

Thankfully, Trumpet will never get reelected. The sane Rs and Is see just how bad he was. The strict constitutionalists must be mortified about his overt and pathetic attempts to overturn and ignore the results of a fair and equitable election. The true fiscal conserative must be horrified about his defecits.

Guys like McConnell still pretend to kiss his ass because the constituents love him but even he grew weary with Trumpet's BS. Cheney and Kinzinger have had enough. Barr already spilled the beans to the House committee on 1-6.

Even his base of loonies are starting to turn on him. Starting with the QAnon anti-vaxxers. The large con donors realize that he was pocketing their money for personal reasons so while they still give to cons causes the Trumpet PAC is not one of them.

I realize that he polls better than any other con but when 2024 rolls around he will be exposed by the SDNY and GA for the liar and cheat he is. I'm not sure about the DOJ. They are going after the little guys and the radical right-winged groups from 1-6 but they are still strangely silent about the big fish from the Trumpet admin who orchestrated and ran interference for the insurrection. Maybe they are taking it slow while getting their waterfowl in a row?

63M people voted for Trump in '16. After 4 years of that nightmare 11M more voted for him. Since then, after all that's transpired and come to light, the vast majority of those 74M voters still support him.

It'd be a mistake to assume he'd lose that support if he runs in '24, regardless of what else comes to light. If we should've learned anything over the past 5-6 years, it's that his supporters don't care.

Considering what governments in Republican controlled states are doing, which will affect how votes are counted, with the archaic Electoral College it's entirely possible he could still "win" an election.

Liz Cheney says Trump's offer to consider Jan. 6 pardons shows 'he'd do it all again'

·Senior Writer

Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., on Monday warned that former President Donald Trump’s suggestion at a weekend rally that he might pardon those who have been convicted of crimes related to the deadly Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the U.S. Capitol shows he would “do it all again.”

“Trump uses language he knows caused the Jan 6 violence; suggests he’d pardon the Jan 6 defendants, some of whom have been charged with seditious conspiracy; threatens prosecutors; and admits he was attempting to overturn the election,” Cheney tweeted. “He’d do it all again if given the chance.”

At a rally in Conroe, Texas, on Saturday, Trump said he would consider pardoning people convicted of joining the attack if he is elected to a second term in 2024.

“If I run and I win, we will treat those people from Jan. 6 fairly,” Trump told the crowd. “We will treat them fairly, and if it requires pardons, we will give them pardons, because they are being treated so unfairly.”

More than 700 people have been charged by the Justice Department with crimes related to Jan. 6, when a violent mob of Trump supporters, fueled by his false claims that the 2020 election was stolen, stormed the Capitol as Congress was in the process of certifying Joe Biden’s victory. The attack left multiple people dead and more than 140 police officers injured.

The former president railed against the House select committee investigating the Capitol assault. Cheney is one of two Republicans on the bipartisan panel.

“This hasn’t happened to all of the other atrocities that took place recently. Nothing like this has happened,” Trump fumed. “What that ‘un-select’ committee is doing and what the people are doing that are running those prisons, it’s a disgrace.”

Trump also called for protests against “racist” prosecutors in New York and Georgia investigating him and his business.

In response, Fulton County, Ga., District Attorney Fani Willis sent a letter to the FBI's Atlanta field office on Sunday asking for protection to “ensure that we do not have a tragedy in Atlanta similar to what happened at the United States Capitol on January 6.”

Late Sunday, Trump released a statement repeating his false claim that Vice President Mike Pence “did have the right to change the outcome” of Trump’s loss to Biden on Jan. 6 and "could have overturned the Election."

“This is an admission, and a massively un-American statement,” tweeted Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., who sits alongside Cheney on the Jan. 6 committee.

“It is time for every Republican leader to pick a side,” Kinzinger added. “Trump or the Constitution, there is no middle on defending our nation anymore.”

Russia if you're listening: The Crime — Russia steps over the line -  Current Affairs Specials - ABC Radio National (Australian Broadcasting  Corporation)

The National Archives has revealed that it received several January 6th-related documents from the Trump White House that were ripped into pieces and were reassembled using tape.

As the Washington Post reports, the National Archives said on Monday that included among the records it has handed over to the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th riots on the United States Capitol are "paper records that had been torn up by former President Trump."

Trump was notorious for ripping up paper records in his White House, as he apparently did not like having written records of his actions.

You are correct. Even as the vile truth is coming out about 1-6 and the effort to overturn an election there are still a lot of brain dead zombies who will overlook the obvious and still cast their vote for the tangerine seditionist. Just like they did in greater numbers after 4 years of his inept, vindictive and rudderless leadership.

But the good news for America is 81 million sane voters cast their ballot for anyone but Trumpet. Now that number will be even larger as the truth and ugly details about Trumpet's illegal plans to rig an election are coming to light.

There are also more Rs in Congress and from the former admin who are growing spines and willing to talk. Pence's former Chief of Staff, Marc Short testified. Ex National Security Advisor Keith Kellog and former WH comm director Alyssa Griffin also told their sordid tales. I'd bet Pence himself will testify when asked.

I'm surprised by all of the traitors and seditionists in the Trumpet admin and Congress who are willing to keep the Big Lie alive but the fat mans days are numbered as the ****s in his armor are slowly widening.

Even if he eludes justice so the goofy Rs in Congress can save face the truth will keep his crooked ass out of the WH. As it is their boy was impeached twice. He has angered many in his own party.

I have been down on the DOJ for what appears a lack of motivation to get the truth out and prosecute the crooked cabal but a lawyer buddy of mine is convinced that they will surprise us all in due time.

The whole world is watching.

Prof, I sure as hell hope you're right. I'm not as optimistic as you are but I'm very much in favor of your thoughts. I'm finding it very sad that there are that many people politicians like Trump and the hard right Republicans appeal to. Frankly I think it's the old wealthy white people fighting hard to hold on to power and influence. I said this before and I got crushed, I thought Obama was a great President and I supported him whole heartedly. When he was elected I believed it to be a transformative time in our country. I was wrong, the country (as a whole) wasn't ready for a minority President and it surfaced all of the hidden right below the surface horrible racism that sadly still exists in our country.
