When is this team going to learn they need to put together a pitching staff with more depth and reliable arms. We have not even started the season yet and German is out and now Severino is battling soreness. Time to go out and get another starter. Been preaching this the whole off season. I recently said once again this team will be desperate for pitching by the TDL. Guess I was wrong, it may be before the season even starts. You can't make these things up.

The problem is, Cashman won't get a legit, actually healthy, #2 or #3 starter. He'll get yet another rehab reclamation project, or dumpster dive.

Let's see what they have in Deivi Garcia...Might be his opportunity to show the team how he has regained his form.

That is the problem. If all the ifs and buts...What we need is a solid 3/4 we can depend on and then sure we can then look at all these potential parts/projects to fill the rotation out. Instead we have 1 sure thing in Cole and then a bunch of guys that are basically mid rotaion to back of rotation starters assuming they stay healthy. If Severino can't stay healthy and in the rotation or hasn't returned to his pre-injury status then your number 2 and 3 pitchers are Mointgomery and Tailon (who also has an injury hiostory). Your not going to win with that and surely not going to contend for the division and or WS championship.

If Severino just has soreness because he didn't pitch much last season, it's not a big deal. But in my opinion, even with Severino the Yankees still need an upgrade when it comes to their #2 or #3 starters.

Just make Pettitte come back outta retirement, lol. He'd probably give them 15 games and win 10 of those.

Maybe he would only go 5 innings, and his fastball would be around 80, but he's a winner!

"Luis Severino said he felt good throwing in the bullpen today and plans to be on the mound Saturday. Expects to throw 40 or more pitches in that start, his final tuneup before the regular season."

So this may have been a Chicken Little post.

Yeah why would anyone be concerned with Severino having discomfort?
