No one complained re dealing Sanchez. Any "complaint" re the Gio/Donaldson deal had to do with taking on Donaldson's contract at a time of looming FA for several current Yankees.
Judge will be a FA, that's really the only guy they should be worried about. Considering they can shed 31 million between Chapman and Britton, they should have no problem signing him - so long as he doesn't get unreasonable as Cano did.
They have Josh for one more year. Tons of people were clamouring for one of the big ticket FA SSs to be signed, and they were all going to command 6/7/8+ years. And they're being paid much more than what Josh is. The salt was flowing after that trade on multiple levels.
He's gonna want Mike Trout type money, I love Judge but he started late so unless he's willing to sign for 5 or 6 years I think the Yankees will let him go.
Yankees aren't letting Judge go! He has more value to them then he does to another team.
He's not only the face of the Yankees but he is the face of MLB as well.
