Gallo needs to sit for a few games, Gonzalez needs to get more playing time... Even better, it would be nice if Gallo could be traded, but I doubt anyone will take him unless we pay his salary ??

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gallo on the bench would be a huge waste of money and, more importantly, a roster spot. Yanks could easily pick up at least 1/2 of his remaining salary and still come out ahead.
Lol. The Mets dropped Cano like nothing... Just go we Andujar and Florial...DFA Gallo and LaCastro
indeed the rangers picked up his remaining salary for the season when they traded him to us. red flag right there ...
apparently management still has hopes of getting "something" out of him. maybe "something" like his 2019 season or even what he did at texas last season before the trade. as bad as he was with us, he did (fwiw) hit 38 HR last year. putting the guy on the bench for more than his "rest" days is counter productive to that. it's either play him or ship him. right now seeing the guy as another chris davis. the scouting reports are out on him. maybin mentioned that apparently the O's lyle had read the report as gallo earned yet another hat trick. he may have his little "hot" streaks or run into an occasional mistake but don't see any hope for improvement. unless he turns it around, give it maybe til mid-june, ASB at the latest where management's hand will be forced. unfortunately they're a lot more patient than us fans.
You guys are all over Gallo but Hicks is just as bad if not worse and he is signed until 2025. Hicks is now 4-44 this month which is below .100. He has been washed up for over 3 years now and his arm after surgery is average at best. Honestly the team winning so much right now is hiding the fact that we have 50% of our outfield hitting a combined .190 with 14 RBIs. You may be able to get by during the season with this but it will not work come playoff time. And if you want to really get depressed Hicks and Gallo's lack of production especially this month have come against some really bad teams.
Hicks is similar to Gallo, but Gallo is worse. At least Hicks still gets on base at a decent rate of 342. Gallo obp is down to 286. In both instances I am as concerned that neither is an elite defender as each was once said to be. Hicks seems to have lost the ability to throw and Gallo just seems lost. I do think the holes in the batting order will feel a lot bigger when the competition gets better.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Like every other player, Gallo will certainly have "moments" when he contributes positively...but highly doubtful those will outweigh the negatives over the course of a long season. And I've yet to see any GG play. At this point I don't see any reason to keep running him out there, especially when there are several legit alternatives like Gonzalez, Andujar & even Florial.

That's what I said, let Gonzalez play half the time and let Gallo sit on the bench, it's the lessor of two evils, pay him to play, from which he isn't helping the team, or pay him to sit and let someone play that can help the team, either way we're going to have to pay him...

agree. was referring to management continuing to run him out there. they stubbornly cling to these things. how many years did they stick w sanchez past his expiration date. i've been done with joey for a while.
