I don't understand the "we'll go nowhere in the playoffs" comment How does anyone know that? If we get in, a Judge or Stanton or Brian Doyle could get hot and carry us along with some good pitching. Seems a little early to be making playoff predictions regardless of how bad Gallo a d Hicks are.

i'm a big 'let's play the games' guy. for sure the wheels could come off at any time but let's wait for them to come off first.

you'd have to be blind to NOT see how bad gallo & hicks have been. as always management is gonna stick with these guys and give them every chance to succeed, well past the fan's patience. my sense is they make a move if there's no improvement, perhaps by mid-june, the ASB or TDL at the latest. they are patient but hopefully not blind.

as for the offense, despite the lack of production from those two plus the catchers, we have been hovering around #1 or #2 in the AL depending on what metrics you look at. currently #1 in OBP & OPS and #2 in BA, runs scored & HRs. that says to me, other teams have problems as well. their grass isn't necessarily greener. a big test will be starting thursday when we play 7 against the rays and angels.

Kay is within his right to defend Hicks...but he should get his facts right. Florial is not "struggling" at Scranton. He has an an obp of 355. Andujar is hitting over 300. And the most obvious replacement for Gallo is Marwin Gonzalez.

Kay can say what he want sbut there is no defending Hicks. He has been in decline for years. Problem is no one in the organization will admit it and they keep thinking somehow Hicks will turn into a player he never was. He is a lifetime .232 hitter and has not hit that mark since 2019. People forget that last year he was almost as bad before he got hurt. This team will make the playoffs but go nowhere if both Hicks and Gallo are on this team come October. At least one has to go.

Come on Bruner be patient, don't you know that Hicks eventually is going to be the next Bernie Williams.

As I already mentioned, the Yankees should give Florial a chance. At the very least if Florial plays the Yankees will know if he's a good MLB player or not.

You should say or Andujar they're not going to bring up both outfielders.

Don't worry we are still working on a name for you. You always seem to take exception when posters on this Board bring up valid points that are critical. Everyone here is happy the team is doing well but it does not preclude people bringing up some obvious points about the lack of production from some players that have historically bad stats such as Hicks. You want to have a pollyanna mentality go ahead its your right but the fact is Hicks was a problem coming into the season and still is.

You on the other hand are more the I told you type Monday morning QB mentality. You wait for someone like Hicks to have a good game and then throw it at people who have been critical. Fact is Hicks has been consistently bad 3 years running. A few weeks ago Hicks went 1 for 2 in a game with 2 walks and you made a point of rubbing it in to his critics. Earlier he had a couple of games in the leadoff spot where he did OK and again you threw this out there. But the fact is when he reverted back to what he has been the last 3 years batting around .100 for the month of May you disappeared and never said boo.

Point ius there are 2 sides to a discussion whether you agree or not or whether you like it or not. Calling people Steve candidates shows the fact you can't except that. Maybe Pollyaana is a good name for your type.

No one is a problem yet as the team is 29-10.  Chill.   Relax.  Bask in the success a little.

There are no emergencies right now.   Players have had worse times coming back from injuries than Hicks is having right now - and many have gotten through it.   Worry about what to do about him when the trade deadline is on the horizon, see how he's fared by then.   When you're winning 75% of your games with Hicks in the lineup, the sky is not falling.   Ditto for Gallo, give him some time, nothing is on fire.   They have until August 2nd to make deals if they need to.   Right now I feel like posters who only focus on Hicks and Gallo when the team is 29-10 are being Steves.

And I'm not alone.   Michael Kay has scorched the haters like Steve, and with good reason.  Some fans just don't deserve the Yankees.   Try rooting for the Reds or Pirates if you want to have company in your misery.

Hicks has had more than enough time to prove himself.  He has become a liability.  Move him to the bottom of the order.  If he still doesn't step up, find a reason to put him on the IL, and move on.

They batted him 9th a few games and he still didn't produce. Time to cut bait.
