That fly ball that fell in the middle of four/five players last night was his all the way, should have been an easy catch if he starts yelling that he's got it, he could have easily run under and caught it, he's the CF'r, he's supposed to take charge... Both Hicks and Gallo need to go...

it's only been a couple games but andujar's looked better than either of them in LF and we know the guy can hit. as i've said in other threads, hope he gets a chance while stanton's out.

Many a average infielder has moved to the OF and became great ... He's as good of pure contact hitter as we have  on this team... He needs to play... Trade him to some other team and he'll become an all star...

Hard to believe Hicks is still on the team.

Bingo.  He's a hot mess, and getting worse.  His body language at the plate is horrible.  He's done with The Yankees.  He might produce elsewhere, but, either way, his time here is up.

i think you are all being a little harsh on Hicks.

At least he's not Gallo

He is actually worse with runners in scoring position.

Like I said in another thread, let Florial play.

You can play him but he looks overmatched at this level. Another top prospect that I expect will go down as a big disappointment when all is said and done.

maybe he tries to do too much in limited playing time, but yeah definitely looks overmatched here. while his overall AAA numbers are decent, the 30%K rate is a giveaway. pitchers here can and will exploit him. with andujar looking decent (so far) in LF, he's the better option but it still doesn't solve our CF issue. hicks is in a deep black hole, so perhaps we move on from him and give judge a bigger role in CF as much as they're loathe to do that.

You still need 3 outfielders and even if you put Judge in CF someone has to play LF and RF. This was a problem coming into the season. They should have addressed this in the off season. I just looked at the AAA roster and there is no one there that resembles a ML ball player manning the OF. Florial/Andujar had the best stats but other than those 2 the Philip Evans, Matt Pita and Ryan MaMarre's aint gonna cut it.

I don't know if he was looking for breaking pitches, but Florial did look over matched when he swung way late on a couple of fastballs. The best  Yankee LF prospect that's closest to playing MLB is Elijah Dunham, but he's only at Double A. He bats left-handed too.
