Anderson should have been ejected from the game, because he kept repeating to put Donaldson on base. As if he was going to do something to Donaldson. In my opinion that was a threat.

Meanwhile a couple of innings later Anderson got his wish, and he did nothing.

That said, for whatever reason if Anderson doesn't like being called Jackie, Donaldson shouldn't call him that anymore.

I had a feeling that a WSox player might try to sucker punch Donaldson. Props to Judge for being a peacemaker and being streetwise by going over to Donaldson and taking him away from the argument.

Grandal was the guy who started things...literally got into Donaldson's face with no provocation.

How do you know there was no provocation? Unless your on the field you don't know what's said. Who knows maybe Donaldson is a wiseass. He's had problems before... i.e. Cole.

I don't think either Anderson or Donaldson is the person we'd want our kids to emulate. We are familiar with Donaldson's history amd Anderson has one too. He has been suspended for making contact with an umpire and later for making obscene gestures towards fans.

Let's not forget Anderson's showboat gloating after the "Field Of Dreams" walk-off HR.

There are a few players on the White Sox who seem to always be looking for trouble, in addition to Anderson. Pitchers Joe Kelly and Liam Hendricks come to mind.

Thats's how I see it... both players have a history.

I watched Anderson´s interview and I felt he had lied from the get-go about the racial epithet or whatever you want to call it, and he knew he has been caught in a lie that is why seemed too evasive when the Media asked, and he would not tell. He kept babbling and would not look straight at the camera. Signs of Guilt! Nothing he said convinced me that he indeed was aggrieved or insulted.

LaRussa took what Anderson said at face value and I do not blame him. He probably found out later about the Sports Illustrated. Article. Grandal the Catcher seemed to be enjoying his moment in front of the Media and never said what the Racial slur was. LaRussa ought to talk to the entire team about the perils of lying because if it was not for SI Donaldson could have been suspended.

When Donaldson was sked I felt he was telling the truth at least he corroborated the SI article. Anderson probably felt or saw himself as a Jackie Robinson which should have been an honor, but he was upset because the Sox were getting beat and probably tried to get something going to light a spark on the Team. It did not work,

During the Post Game, Jack Harry had a message on his cell phone attesting that Anderson had said he felt like  Jackie Robinson.

I do hope today The Yanks bury them twice and send them on their way very upset. Donaldson should seize the moment to be patient at the plate and deliver. Nothing would enrage the Sox more.  I wonder what type of reception The Sox will receive from the fans paramount Grandal and Anderson.

By the Way, I call my 14-year-old Rhett Babe Ruth because he is an excellent pitcher and hitter. I have no regrets because he knows I am comparing him to the greatest baseball player that ever was. Ge just smiles

I guess that depends on if WSox players keep getting in Donaldson's face. But if that continues, we have all seen MLB fights start over much less than how Grandal confronted Donaldson.

Donaldson seems to be done with the situation and even apologized if what he said was taken the wrong way.

I saw him come to the plate and didn't appear to say anything until Grandal got in his face. Even then he looked very restrained...remarkably so, IMO.

Donaldson is a "wiseass"...always has been. So what? He's always played with emotion and speaks his mind, which is what got him traded from Oakland. He's one of those guys players hate if he's on an opposing team, love when he's on theirs.

As far as what he said re Cole and apparently Giolito...pitchers already have every advantage over hitters. It’s not at all out of line for hitters like Donaldson to call out pitchers for using “sticky stuff”, which is exactly what he did.

As I recall, you've frequently said you have no respect for "cheaters", which is exactly what Cole, Giolito and any other pitcher who used "sticky stuff" is/were doing...cheating.

You know better than that... there's alot more that goes on that we don't see...
I'm not sure what Cole has to do with this but, apparently many pitchers were using SS. The no Sticky stuff rule didn't come out until last season, I think. I've also been vocal about my concern for Cole as not being the pitcher he was before SS. And truth be told... Cole is not one of my favorites... I can't stand his pitch whinney voice.
