Manfred had to do something once LaRussa labeled it a racist slur.

Take the day off, put it in the rear view.

I guess it is a good thing LaRussa did not call him a witch.

Seriously, there are thoughts of a MLB suspension. No punches was exchanged. Are players that much of a pansy? From what I hear, it's common among players to exchange ragged banters.

Gardner was Infamous for giving Cole the"business" in regards to the sticky stuff. Talk about being thin skin....whatever happens locker room banter? Does a fight breaks out when someone jokingly said your girlfriend is ugly...

Suspension for sarcasm? Cone says he's not in Anderson's shoes, neither am I. But in my opinion, I don't have to be in anyone's shoes to hear Donaldson's explanation and see sarcasm and not a racist comment or ethnic slur. Jackie Robinson is a Hall of Fame player, well respected with a good reputation. If Anderson was Italian and Donaldson called him Joe D. that's sarcasm, he if he called him Fredo, that's a different story.

Donaldson should not have been suspended for that altercation. His calling Anderson "Jackie" was a comparative that TA made about himself in 2019. JD was needling him about it. No racist comment nor intent. Jackie Robinson was highly esteemed and respected, and a very good HOF player. Most players would be flattered to be compared to him, but Anderson is in no way comparable to JR.

I'm not getting it. Anderson referred to himself as Jackie in an article. So why was he in an uproar when Donaldson called him that? And I'm  not a Donaldson fan....

Because he's backpeddaling on the fact that he said something really stupid.

How can anyone compare themselves to Jackie Robinson?  it's just arrogant and foolish.  Donaldson, while he's a big jerk, made Anderson realize how stupid and arrogant it was.  So, he lashed out, played the victim, and now an over-sensitive public is blowing something out of proportion, that should've stayed on the field.

Think about this...  If Mike Trout called himself the New Babe Ruth, doesn't everyone think that everyone would be calliing him "babe"?

Players poop on each other.  They know that if they get under another player's skin, it can affect their game.

Except, now Anderson feels emboldened by the "virtuos support' he's getting, and it backfired on The Yankees.

I hope this doesn't ruin the run The Yankees started... Which, it already seems to have done.  There's nothing worse thasn dissention in the clubhouse, and Anderson, (among others) know what that can do to a club.

Talk about fragile egos.  Sarcastic remarks sending Anderson on a tail spin in putting on a dramatic response to elicit public support. Uber sensitivity is on an all time high. Manfred needs to grow a pair kowtowing a bunch of pansies buying into ridiculousness.

I'm pretty sure the Yanks can act like grown ups and move on from this... in fact I'm sure they already have moved on.

Anderson could never fill Roninson's shoes literally or figuratively yet punked himself with that delusional interview.  Opponents are obligated to get under the skin of this hot tempered fool.  MLB once again made everything worse.

The equation can be correct but not solve the problem.  Saying he is, the Yankees still owe him $ 50 M over this year and next. What do you do ?
