I've seen more past balls and wild pitches over the past few days then I could recall with Sanchez in the same span.

Sanchez has a higher dWar than Higgy, a Higher WAR than Higgy and Trevino combined, and more homers and RBIs than both of these turds combined.

Meanwhile Our Ace is getting lit up again ...this time by the baltimore Orioles ... and I dont want to hear crap about the incredibly subjective pitch framing BS!

Gimme Sanchez over these turds any and every day !!!!!

Gary Sanzhez allowed more passed balls per game than any other catcher in the majors since he broke in.   So I have no idea which Sanchez you watched or remember.

Since 2019 ... The past 4 seasons

  • Sanchez -22 PB in 240 games =  1 PB PB every 10.9 games
  • Higgy  -   11 PB in 107 games = 1 PB every 9.72 games

Sanchez had a rifle. Catchers interference, passed balls, stolen bases and no rbi and power. Sanchez is doing pretty well in Minnesota. Too many fans were caught in the hate circus.

Career WAR

  • Sanchez  12.1 (8 Seasons)
  • Higgy -0.1 (6 seasons)
  • Trevino 0.8 (5 Seasons)

How is this even debatable ??? Oh Yeah ... pitch framing ... the great equalizer

Remind me who was playing in the Wild Card game last year, and in every play-off game in 2020?

If Gary can't catch in the postseason, he's 100% worthless to the Yankees.   And they don't need another one dimensional RH hitter to DH.

Very small sample size for Higgy, not even one full season over that period of time.   No pitcher ever refused to have Higgy be their catcher.

Gary Sanchez had something to do with his being unwanted in New York. Anyone recall the times we yelled about his lack of hustle ?   I stuck up for the guy for years and maybe he did get criticized too much, but he did bring a good portion of it on by his play.

How about we gear you up, and put you behind the plate for 50 pitches?

FFS, just shut up.  If you don't know what you're talking about, just don't talk.

These guys are EXPONENTIALLY better than Sanchez.

Catching ain't easy.  In fact, it's excruciatingly difficult.

So, just stop being a troll.

just "catching" with this joke of a thread ...

the feelng was almost unanimous on this forum about moving on from sanchez. people wanted him gone for years and now we have someone pining away for him. smh ...

certainly higgy has been a disappointment. at least so far it looks the wrong call to have made him the starting catcher. he's been exposed. on the other hand, trevino has been very good particularly at handling the pitchers and he's had his moments offensively (tonight in particular). and the two of them have been important in helping our pitchers be one of the best in the AL so far.

fwiw trevino over his last 6 games is hitting .444 w 2 HR and 7 RBI w a couple of big hits. he can't keep that up, but if he can keep hitting around his career mark of .245 (which he is), should be good enough.
