Maybe 30/30 means leaving 30 runners in scoring position on base by striking out 30 times. If only Hicks would stop swinging for the fences and meet the ball like IKF did when he got a hit to tie the game.

   One of my persistent laments regarding Cashman is the emphasis he puts on the exit velocity of batted balls. I think that encourages the swings we see from Hicks and to a lesser extent other Yankees including the more talented Torres.

   A day or two ago I stood up and cheered, (sitting alone in my basement), when Rizzo intentionally tapped a ball to an open left field in order to get Judge a pa with a man on base. In my world that is a professional at bat. No velocity, just productive.
