What in any managers mind, when people get healthy would not play Andujar over Gallo in LF ?? More game time playing, he will be the best pure hitter on the team...

not sure it's all on the manager. guessing cashman, who traded for the guy has a lot of "input".

would certainly prefer andujar in there over gallo. not sure on what planet a guy, an OF'er (an offensive position) who's hitting .164 over now 2/3 of a season including last year gets to play everyday. while projections are usually meaningless, if you project this season, he's on a pace for "whopping" 17 HRs and 25 RBI w his usual K rate of 38 %. pathetic ...

for certain miggy deserves at least a shot. hope he plays every game while stanton's out and forces their hand. not sure gallo is even tradeable unless there's a team that thinks they can "fix" him because right now he's very broken.

While it is possible that Gallo can be repaired I don't see it happening in New York this year.

They've got Gallo hitting 9th today in a still depleted lineup.  You know what they say about the next spot after hitting 9th.

I think you are right. Jack Curry is sort of saying the same thing on YES. I think the Yankees are down on Gallo both as a fielder and a hitter. If not, I don't see why they did not put him in center today at least for a look.

I always liked Andujar. But Cashman might be thinking he can trade Gallo? For what?

Totally agree, who's going to take him ?? I think his career is about to come to an end... He's worth nothing if he can't make contact...

think they'll make a move on gallo within the next 2 weeks if he doesn't show any improvement. the big tell will be when stanton comes off the IL. does andujar go back to scranton or do they trade or release gallo. andujar's started the 6 last games in LF and so far he's fielded the position well. his offense is lagging a bit. has zero walks in 28 AB, his hard hit % & EV are down in a small sample size. nonetheless he's an upgrade over gallo. hopefully it's performance based.

All to often with this treamk it is contract based. Meaning we are paying him $X millions per year so we gotta play him.  Of course it is a small sample size, 28 AB, but Andujar is hitting .286 in those 28 ABs and striking out 14% of the time.  Andujar should NEVER sit to get Gallo9 (or Hicks) into the lineup.

Joey is now slugging a .590 for the month of June.
