the fewer yankees on the AS team the better. judge the number vote getter is starting. don't see any other yankee position player making it though both rizzo & stanton are on the cusp. at catcher kirk starts and jonah heim who leads AL catchers in HRs makes it as the reserve over trevino. fine with that.

since pitching has been our strength, think we have 3 pitchers making the team. holmes, cole & cortes. king on the cusp. verlander because of his recovery from TJ at 39 yrs old should start but mcclanahan has arguably been the best starter in baseball.

That is my opinion too. I'd rather have my players resting.

This is not what I want to hear. As reported....

Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton Wants to Participate in 2022 Home Run Derby. Stanton will be starting in the outfield for the American League on Tuesday, but could be busy swatting tape-measure shots at Dodger Stadium on Monday as well

first of all, surprised he made it as an OF starter sice he's only a part-time OF'er but even more surprised he wants to participate in the derby.

he did win in 2016 in san diego (his favorite park). he also entered in 2017 at miami - his home park - and was eliminated after the 1st round. after the break he did go crazy and hit 33 HRs so let's hope if he does participate, the same thing happens. still rather he didn't play.

I'm surprised to hear he's going to participate. Maybe he feels good... wants to swing the instead of sit.

MLB.com | Thomas Harrigan: Giancarlo Stanton was voted in to the All-Star Game as a starter for the fifth time in his career and first as a Yankee, fending off a late challenge in the fan votes from the Toronto’s George Springer. Stanton joins his teammate Aaron Judge, the AL’s overall vote leader, in the starting outfield alongside Mike Trout, and he hinted that he might participate in the Home Run Derby as well. Unsurprisingly, Jose Trevino’s bid to start behind the plate came up shy against Toronto’s Alejandro Kirk, who cruised to a win, so if Trevino makes the squad, it will be as a reserve. Those will be announced late Sunday afternoon.

If you haven't seen the video of Boone calling Trevino into his office to tell him, YouTube it, it's very emotional.
