How many pinstripes does Singleton have "running thru his veins"?

Ken Singleton was a  polished professional with 15 years of  experience before he got to New York. If I have to live with someone learning on the job I'd prefer it to be a Yankee.  Maybe someday Maybin will be as good, but I don't think I've got that much time left in me.

Maybe they had Beltran Interview him

lol!
Maybin's better than Beltran!

100% agree with you .. Beltran makes me want to listen to Waldman and Sterling.

I'd take her over Beltran any day of the week.

Of course. Seems he's the favorite of most, if not all, here.

But he had no connection to the Yankees prior to becoming an announcer for the team. Neither did another favorite, Bill White. Jim Kaat, had very little.

I think Maybin has potential, but sometimes he needs to stop pulling his punches. Today when he was disvussing the different approaches by Gallo and Rizzo with a runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs, he was complimentary of Rizzo and started to be critical of Gallo's all or nothing approach but then surprisingly switched gears and said somthing like he has to do what hes comfortable doing. I think Paulie would have been more forceful about cutting down the swing and putting the ball in play.

Yeah, he was Mo. Kaat was another good one. The best announcers seem to be the ones that don't overly talk about the game. Not a fan of the 3 men in the booth either unless they alternate calling the game like Rizzuto, White, and Messer did.

Both White and Kaat had limited experience before starting in New York.  Not a lot, but at least some.

Thought we were talking about pinstripes "running thru their veins". In fact, prior to Rizzuto I don't recall anyone in the booth who had been with the Yanks as a player, manager or coach.
