3 hits in 13 innings. Pathetic. Miggy is not the answer. He looks overmatched, but then again so do all the Yankee hitters.

He also accounted for 33% of the Yankees hits

1 hit out of a total of 3 for th eteam. So misleading. But lets look at the real facts. His hit was off the fists and dumped in shallow left. He was 1-5  with 3 strikeouts. He left 4 men on base and when it mattered the most he could not even put the bat on the ball.

Boy...when you get down on a player you don't let up.

   If a guy can't keep his composure on 8/10 with a 10 game lead in the division, how do you think it is going to work out in the postseason ?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bash pulled a “look-what-I-found” on the IKF hard hit ball up the middle which would’ve driven in the go ahead run.
     What followed was the bad part.  IKF getting put out trying to get to 2nd was dumb.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So for that you wanna send him to SWB. OK.

How about Trevino, Benintendi & Andujar??

    Trevino did not do anything wrong. He is a caccher and runs like one. And the last I checked the Yankees do not have any prospects with promise at the minor league level to fill an outfield spot. But there is at least one middle infielder.

     IKF is a nice utility player but that is his ceiling. I am not certain he is much better than the guys we tried at short last year. I just don't understand why it would be so destructive to the organization to make a change as SS.

just trying to do much which i guess in his case is "understandable." but we have many members of the "trying to do much/swing for the fences" club instead of the quality AB, take what the pitcher gives club.

Correct...Trevino do not do anything wrong. In fact, IKF could've just as easily been the POTG had Bash not pulled a magic trick, which even he was stunned by. As for Benintendi...following your "logic", if there was an OF prospect to take his place, would you replace him? How about Andujar...should he be sent down because of his baserunning blunder and Florial brought up to replace him?

You've had it out for IKF for most of the season, and nitpick every little thing he does. On a team that has trouble putting the ball in play, he does so consistently. The fact is, with a .268 BA he's one of the better hitters in the lineup. I could be wrong, but I believe BA is still somewhat of an indication of "consistent" hitting. As for offensive comparison to Wade/Velazquez...there is none.

Sounds like maybe subconsciously, you hold him responsible for the Donaldson deal.

    See Wade's numbers from 2021. He hit 268 with an obp of 354 and an OPS+ of 90...Neve getting more than a few games at a time. IKF has almost identical numbers this year...his obp is a lower.  Why are you thinking IKF is so much better ?

    AV is in the opinion of most baseball people and the Stats guys a much better shortstop on defense.

    I admire IKF, Wade, Velazquez and doznes of other guys like them who are very good players but not quite plus major league players. They can and do contribute. But if I have an elite 22 year old prospect in my system I want to see him in August.

Cole pitched well. The Yankees can't expect to win when they give away so many outs. At times it looked like I was watching a colorized version of a Keystone Cops movie.

I've always said Wade was the best SS on the team, that is until Velazquez came along, who is even better. And you may recall that I said during the off-season that if the Yanks could acquire a LH leadoff hitting CF I'd be fine with either Wade or Velazquez at SS. They didn't, and both landed in Anaheim, where they both fared miserably this season offensively. That doesn't mean the results would've been the same with the Yanks, but I think it's a pretty good indication.

It's interesting that you'd complain that "IKF is a nice utility player but that is his ceiling" when the same is true to an even greater extent re both Wade & Velazquez. If either was performing the same as IKF is now would you be calling for them to be sent down to make room for either Peraza or Volpe?

Seems you want to replace IKF just to see what Peraza/Volpe can do, which doesn't sound like a good enough reason at this point in the season or their development.

How is that misleading? It's math you idiot ... 3 hits he got one of them. They guy that has been stuck in Scranton got more hits the mosts of the MLB players in the lineup.

Yankees had 14 ks as a team and not one player hit with runners in scoring position

They all sucked

   Would I make that move if Wade was with the team ?  Yes I would.  IMO that is the move that has the potential to give the Yankees a boost from within their organization. I don't see much else the Yankees can do right now. Nor do I see the downside.

Some players just seem to get this untouchable label ... IKF is the least productive offensive player on the team and his defense is avg or slightly above, he may be the only full time player in the MLB without a HR but ... He can do no wrong
