He needs just 5 strikeouts to pass The Gator's 248 in 1978 and hold the Yankee single season record.

He needs to stop unraveling so much... he's second in the majors on homers allowed 35 so far this season.

And nobody cares because Cole couldn't hold Guidrys jock strap as an ace.

Guidrys 1976 Season was one of the greatest seasons in MLB history

Coles 2022 Season has been one of the tops on the Yankees in 2022

And Guidry fell fell victim to the "pitchers shouldn't be the MVP because the have the Cy Young" mantra of the day.  But without Guidry the Yanks do not catch Boston.  But Boston still finishes 2d even with out Rice.  Guidry was far more valuable.

But if you think Cole's 2022 season is an all time great for the Yankees what do you think of Cortes' season since he leads Cole in pretty much every category (ERA, HR/9, WHIP) except strikeouts. (Cole has one more win, but wins are not really a good measure of a pitcher's worth.  But Cole is 12-7 while Cortes is 11-4 assuming the game is eventually called and the Yankees win 2-0 tonight.)

I wonder if back in '61 people were whining because Maris couldn't hold Ruth's jockstrap and only hit .269?

Some of our fans must have been the inspiration for Doug and Wendy Whiner.

Maris broke the Major League record for HRs dummy

This is only the 3rd highest K total of Coles Career ... No body gives a **** ...

It's like Gian Gallo hitting 30 HRs ... Who gives a **** !?!? He's batting 150 for almost half the season !?!?

You just know Doug Whiners of the world would have been the * supporters of '61, whining that Maris had 162 games while Ruth only had 154.   And that he hit a paltry .269.

"Ohhhhhwwww, Maris barely slugged .600, he's not a real slugger like Ruth!   He couldn't hold Ruth's jock!"

".269, what a joke!   Ruth hit .356!   I'm embarassed to be a Yankee fan!  Del Webb needs to sell this team!!"

"It took Maris all 162 games, he's a bum and deserves an * next to his so-called record!"

I'm Sure the Cole family will be at future Yankee games when Gerrit's yankee strikeout record is broken.

In fact most Yankee fans and the media have stopped following the Judge saga and have begun to focus on Coles amazing feat

Really??? Look at how many fans stuck around in the pouring rain last night hoping for one more Judge AB.  How many do you think care even a bit about Cole breaking Guidry's record (other than maybe wishing he would not).  And how many do you think wouild have stuck around last night to see Cole go for the K record?
