If he can come back and hit like he was before, he'd be a yugely impactful bat for the post season.   It would be interesting to see just how they could work him in to the lineup.

Just getting that mustache back on the field is a win.

He has no spot in the lineup unless you want Stanton to sit

looking forward to getting carpenter back. see him primarily as a pinch hitter. seriously doubt they'd sit stanton during the post-season.

I also doubt they'd want either Stanton or Carp playing in the OF, but that's the only way I could see both in the lineup.

unless beni comes back, the OF more than likely will be judge, bader & cabrera. however if carp comes back like a house on fire, could see them going w stanton in LF to get carp's bat in the lineup providing they first get stanton a game or two in the OF. don't know the extent of stanton's achilles injury and whether it would allow such a scenario.

Yep, another option would be if Carpenter can play 3B.

Boone is talking about DJ being ready for the postseason. If he is...I don't see a spot for Carpenter.

not gonna happen. the yankees will put a premium on defense in the PS. both josh & DJ have played top notch D at 3B and they're not gonna risk carpenter there. even stanton in LF, given he hasn't played there in the 2nd half is a long shot.

It's more likely that Taillon is used as the closer.   There is at least some small chance that could happen.
