Now that the regular season is over and the Yankees will have 5 days to rest and get their roster together for the postseason, it's going to be interesting to see who they decide to bring along. One of those decisions will certainly have to be who gets the start in Game 1 on Tuesday in the ALDS in New York. We all know that Cortes has undoubtedly been 'The Ace' of the pitching staff this year. However, the Yankees are paying Cole over $300 million to be the ace of the staff and he hasn't really lived up to his expectations. There's talks that, based on his salary, Cole will get the nod even though Cortes has outdone him. Who do you think should get the nod in Game 1 for the postseason?

No brainer...Cole...He has WS experience, so he won't buckle under pressure.

The only AL playoff team Cole hasn't done very well against this year is Toronto:

Cole’s stats against AL playoff teams: 2.61 ERA, 3.14 FIP, 1.1 HR/9

Cole’s stats when you remove Toronto from that group: 1.86 ERA, 2.73 FIP, 0.9 HR/9

Cole’s stats against Toronto: 5.00 ERA, 4.45 FIP, 1.5 HR/9

The harder decision is who is #2?   Nestor or Sevy?   Taillon is #4.

They signed Cole to be the ace, he’ll start game 1 no doubt about it.
