Yes, the dust is still settling from the midterms, but Election Day 2024 is only 716 days away. There is not a minute to waste, so let the speculations begin! Will Joe Biden run again to play David against Trump's Goliath? Will Ron DeSantis topple The Orange Menace before Joe or some other Dem has a shot at him? And, should Joe not run, who will emerge from the Dem bench to carry the ball? And what about all the down-ballot races? In the New.S.A, will it be secretaries of state who determine winners and losers? So many questions, so little time...

As for the Dem succession question, here are 5 members of the progressive ranks who are outstanding younger prospects to replace the aging Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. Bernie, at 81, has already been age-cancelled, but, given Biden's and Trump's ages, Warren is merely "seasoned" at 73. Anyway, here are the Progressive Picks to Click, from youngest to oldest: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, 32 (D-NY) Rep. Ro Khanna, 46 (D-CA) Rep. Cory Bush, 46 (D-MO) Senator-Elect John Fetterman, 53 (D-PA) Governor Gavin Newsom, 54 (D-CA)

I wish the progressive movement started when I was younger but at least I got to see its birth and maturation thanks to Bernie and Elizabeth.

Instead of standing still or going backwards, it's again time for America to "progress"...

BTW, is Kamala Harris a serious candidate for prez? Some have described her as a "pragmatic progressive". Others say that is a contradiction in terms.

On the GOP side, who will be joining Trump as 2024 presidential candidates?

I dont look forward to the coming two years. Hi-jinx and mayhem with regularity. Interesting part comes from GOPs as they each find ways to weaken their opponents.
For sure collectively the GOP House will do what they can to annihilate DEMs presidential candidate (Biden?) when one is identified heading toward 2024. We saw that during the Benghazi hearings as they collectively did a number on Hillary.

Prominent members of the Republican Party have begun to weigh in on the Trump candidacy... "...Former GOP House Speaker Paul Ryan on Sunday said the GOP would 'probably lose' if former President Donald Trump becomes the Republican Party's nominee in the 2024 presidential election. 'He can get his people through the primaries, but they can't win general elections,' Ryan told Johnathan Karl, co-host of ABC's This Week. 'We get past Trump, we start winning elections. We stick with Trump, we keep losing elections. That's just how I see it.' Although Ryan told Karl he was proud of some of the accomplishments during the Trump administration, he still referred to himself as a 'Never-Again-Trumper,' days after the former president announced that he was running for the 2024 presidential election..." Chris Christie voiced a similar opinion, as noted in another thread.

Whoa! I sense a pile-on... In regard to the 2024 Republican nomination, David Duke told "the Onion" that his allegiance has switched from Trump to DeSantis, although it was a qualified endorsement: “I’d prefer someone of pure white blood, but I guess an Italian will do.”
