Will he get claimed?   Or will he be back in AAA for the Bucs?

Isn't it great Cashman refused to include him in any deals?

Such a shame he got hurt. He might have had a really good career.

The injury no doubt hurt.  But you do have to wonder why it is so many "stud" Yankee prospects seem to hit the big leagues looking like future All Stars and then rather quickly flame out.  Is it the Yankee development process or do so many of them have hidden flaw(s) that it is just a matter of time before other teams identify them?

By the way, Justus Sheffield was also recently DFA'd by the Mariners.

We could now acquire Andujar, Sheffield, Voit, Frazier and Sanchez.

Make AAA Great Again.

It will be interesting to see if any of them get a major league contract.  With the generally bad state of major league catching I am a bit surprised Sanchez has yet to get any offer as a backup catcher/DH.  I wonder if teams think his swing is so irretrievably broken he has no value even as primarily a DH.

thought andujar's bat was electric. the injury wrecked him and robbed him of his power.

how much did concussions effect frazier?

voit was never a "prospect" per se but we got the best out of him and now he's reverted to what he was. think someone will take a flyer on him. could do some damage in fenway.

and sanchez is the poster child for pitchers exposing flaws. there is so much detailed analytics now that a hitter's weaknesses can quickly and easily be exploited. only the really good ones make the needed adjustments. some just never figure it out.

Like all players who make it to pro ball, Andujar had worked very hard to get to where he was before being derailed by injury. Says a lot about those who take pleasure and gloat over his misfortune.

I could see a low budget team like the As inviting him to ST. I really liked the kid and wish him well.

That is why it is probably wise not to fall too much in love with propects like Peraza, Cabrera and Volpe even if they have initial success in 2023 until they show that they can do it for the long haul.
