Yep..as I said when this conversation started, I'm fine with giving Cabrera a legit shot in LF. In fact, I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's the next Gio.
Yanks could do a lot worse than Hicks as the 4th OF. He can play anywhere in the OF, and hit from either side of the plate. Speed on the basepaths. His salary is irrelevant.
being able to hit from both sides of the plate is nice if you can actually hit. The guy has been in decline for 5 years. And sure he can play any position in the OF but his defense is declining. The problem is one of our OFers goes on the 10 day list and you end up having to play Hicks too much. I mean how often do we have to beat a dead horse.
It seems everyone forgets just how bad it got last year. Maybe reading the below will jog people's memory
