Ron DeSantis and the GOP fight 'woke' because hating a word is easier that hating people “Woke” is an umbrella term on the right. Sometimes it refers to students learning about things like gender identity or slavery, sometimes it deals with the kind of shoes a cartoon M&M is wearing, sometimes it involves climate change. The bottom line is DeSantis and other Quixotic clodhoppers in the perma-fabulist world of the Republican Party have made “woke” a ubiquitous slur, attacking everyone from leaders of The Walt Disney Co. to teachers to M&Ms. Why? Apparently because the “wokies” are trying to destroy America by engaging in radical behavior like “promoting understanding,” “thinking about others” and “making the world a slightly less awful place for people who historically haven’t had much say in how things work.” ~~~Rex Huppke

Florida's Lil' Napoleon is trying to sukkk in Trumpies who either become disillusioned or would become disenfranchised if our legal system finally imposes its penalties on The Orange Menace. The resulting casualties in the culture war will likely include thousands and thousands of children...perpetuating yet another generation that will marinate in the hate sauce of bigotry.

It is no secret that our schools have been the source of liberal indoctrination for years. While this dissident academy swings too far in the other direction, tens of thousands of parents across the country have chosen to skip the liberal indoctrination being paid for by our taxes to give their kids a wholesome and meaningful education. The good news is that even some of the liberal whackadoos are starting to admit that the leftist education system in our country needs change. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill last week pledged to open a School of Civic Life and Leadership and plans to hire educators from across the political spectrum to share ideas at the campus. This is the way education was supposed to work; rather than indoctrination a sharing of potentially conflicting ideas.

"It is no secret that our schools have been the source of liberal indoctrination for years" mantra by the radical and bigoted right is nonsense. We can only hope.

The liberal indoctrination in schools is necessary to balance the conservative rhetoric taught by the churches. It is not a coincidence that the majority of teachers, like actors and musicians, are libs. These progressive folks are less resistant and more adaptable to change and learn early on to question the status quo.

Just more conservafascitarian bullsh1t, like “defunding police” & “open borders”. The only “indoctrination” I was knowingly & willingly subjected to was during my years in Catholic school…none whatsoever over the course of my public school education. Of course, that was many years ago, but the same is true not only of my kids and also my grandkids, 4 of whom are currently in the public school system.

At least your willing to admit the liberal indoctrination that goes on in schools. The problem is that schools are funded by public money and our entire education system should not be based solely on liberal indoctrination.

The radical and bigoted right does not believe in education but in indoctrination: Liberty and justice for some but not all are part of their anti-American agenda.
