Don't like the idea of MLB adding 2 expansion teams. In my opinion, the talent in MLB is already watered down. If anything MLB should consider contraction. There's at least 2 MLB teams that have attendance issues.
I agree with this ... If you reduce the league to 28 teams then 6 games vs each team becomes a perfect number
i.e Yankees would play 3 home and 3 away games against the other 27 teams 27 x 6 = 162 Games
I'm fine with contraction and I agree with expansion not being the greatest idea. I don't think, however, that they'd ever look at the idea of playing a 27 x 6 schedule. They want those 10-15 sold out Yankees/Red Sox games or Cardinals/Cubs, Dodgers/Giants, etc. They aren't going to replace them with extra games for the Yankees against the Rockies or Diamondbacks.
I like this idea. There are too many teams right now, and some struggle to sell tickets. If they played each team 6 times, the Yankees could make 3 trips west of KC per year, play 3 of those teams 3 games each in 10 days (barring rain) and be back in the "east" for a 5 to 6 weeks. They then travel again for 10/11 days and come back again for 5 or 6 weeks.
