I sure wish it was for something far more significant then this nonsense. Going to create a big commotion over something few really care about. Kind of like Clintons impeachment.

Agreed. Hopefully Georgia will follow shortly, then the Big Dog...Jack Smith.

It took some less exciting charge...tax evasion...to get Capone off the streets.  Don't mind a bit if Trump takes his first perp walk over illegal hush money.

I'm sure you thought Clinton should have been convicted over the Lewinski nonsense. Convicting him on something like this does make it look like a witch hunt. Would have been fine if this was a pile on after he was already in jail for Jan.6th.

Trumpet isn't ever going to face real justice. He will get a slap, and be removed from the next election picture, allowing DeSantis to be the R's main focus.

Dems will puff out their chest and claim a victory of bringing the bad man to justice, while the Repubs will gather up the Trumpet voting block for DeSantis, telling them the evil Dems are to blame for tearing down dear ole daddy Trump.

Clinton lied about the consentual affair.  Would that ever rise to "high crimes" in an impeachment trial?  Trump illegally using campaign funds is another matter.  That is certainly an offense worth prosecuting at the appropriate level.  And there is no reason the rest of the charges Trump faces in the rest of the cases being made against him shouldn't be pursued as well.  Again, it comes down to showing that the rule of law applies to everyone, even presidents or ex-presidents.

Trump is likely more beatable than Trump 2.0 Desantis. Both candidates are dangerous to our democracy. Trump did his damage to unleash fascist white nationalist.  A younger version of him is likely to emerge to continue in his vein. I will continue to say, as long of MAGA controls the narrative, I will not vote of any GOPs.

Be careful what we wish for.  Althought seeing Trump fingerprinted and mugged shot is encouraging.  End result is anyone's guess.  I look forward to Jack Smith putting an end to his horrific period. One thing for sure if a GOP should occupy the Oval Office, you can bet Trump will be pardon if Jack Smith accomplish his deed.

I'll add a couple of pennies to the thread.

trumpet will not serve time behind bars. Not for the illegal payoffs with campaign funds. Not for leaning on GA to ignore Biden's win. Not for raping Carroll and not for inciting an insurrection. He has way too much money, power and political influence behind him. He has the power to drag these indictments on for years.

Perhaps one day he'll be placed under home arrest or maybe he will have to perform community service. Whatever happens, it will not be in a traditional jail like the rest of us would wind up in and he will certainly run for Prez and beat into submission any R who runs against him.

The only legal way to prevent fatboy from running is by invoking the 14th Amendment if he is convicted of the awful events of 1-6. And that is not going to come to fruition because I'm pretty sure you need a 2/3 majority vote from both chambers and that ain't happening.

So the bloviating blowhard will run and get the nod from the GOP but he will lose to whichever D shows up as the Is have tired of his schtick.
