Happy to see Boone didn't sit Cabrera after a very rough start.

yup. was worried after game 1. thinking that maybe they shoulda started the veteran hicks (god forbid) just so cabrera wouldn't have to deal w the pressure of trying to do too much on opening day. boone showing some faith here. and it's very rare for boone to run out the same lineup 2 games in a row. not sure what this says about hicks. also 2 in a row in RF for stanton.

~~~~~~~~~~~ Makes sense for Boone to show the kid he has confidence in him. IMO sitting him today could've really put a lot of pressure on him, and lead him to start pressing, which is the last thing you want. We should also keep in mind that Webb pitched a very strong game, striking out 12 Yankees, including DJ 3 times. I would hope and expect him to have a relatively long leash, at least until Bader returns. As I've said previously, Yanks could do worse than Hicks as a 4th OF and Stanton seems to hit better when he's playing in the field.
As reported via Hoch... Harrison Bader is with the team in New York. He swung in a pool yesterday and will continue to do so today and tomorrow, according to Aaron Boone, who said that Bader could begin swinging in a cage and re-introduce a throwing program within the week.
~~~~~~~~~~~~ Good news. Pretty sure he was in the dugout for Thursday's game.

Schmidt looking good. That throw over to 1b by Trevino didn't work well though, more Rizzo's fault there.

Wow costly error by Cobb! He's got to be getting a little rattled.
