not surprising sadly. Unfortunately, we're going to lose a ton of games now.

Not sure whether the catch was worth the expected losses....

You do know hindsight is 20/20...right?

He's not smart enough to understand what hindsight is.

Luv, sometimes it would be nice to be an octopus so a guy could smack 8 people at once, ya know?

Would have liked to see Dunham get promoted if he was hitting at Triple A, but he's not (.219).

I don't expect the Yankees to promote Florial unless they know for sure that they are going to keep him on their 26 man roster. Jasson Dominguez is only 20 years old, so it's way too early for the Yankees to give up on him. He's not hitting for average at Double A. But he still has a respectable .744 OPS so far this season, which would rank 3rd on the Yankees .001 ahead of Torres and trailing only Judge's 1.078 OPS and Rizzo's .840 OPS.

It's AA and .744 is only ok

If that is you argument Florial would be 2nd to Judge with a 1.043 OPS and would be getting MVP consideration

So what that it's Double A? Aren't you using Triple A stats to make a case for Florial to get promoted? Florial's actual OPS in 3 seasons at Triple A is .841, which is still a good OPS. Yes, JD hasn't faced MLB pitching yet, but in Florial's short time in MLB he looked overmatched.

Yes, Florial shouldn't be judged by 54 MLB at bats, just like JD shouldn't be judge by 191 Double A at bats. I said more than once, Florial has earned another chance to be the Yankees LFer. As I also said, it's not like starting Florial in LF is keeping Dave Winfield on the bench. My "argument" as you call it, is that it's way too early for the Yankees to give up on JD.

I'm not giving up on Dominguez but I am dissappointed so far ... yes he's young but he needs to stay where he is right now. He looks like he is at least 2 years away.

Florial essentially skipped AA (35 ABs) after a bad hand injury in 2019 and a covid washed out season in 2020 ... So 2021 was a huge jump from A+ to AAA ... And he is actually being judge by 31 MLB ABs in 2022 ... His previous 23 MLB in 2020/2021 were excellent

He's being judged by his insane strikeout rate, which hasn't changed.

2023 - Evey season there are starting players in the MLB with 100s of ABs that have a higher SO% than Florial

2022 - Over 25 players with at least 35 PAs had a worse SO% than Florial

2019 - Stanton had a 33.3 SO% for the entire season ... That's higher than Florial's 50 Career SO%

2022 - Stanton had a 40 SO% in almost 100 ABs for the entire Sept/Oct

It's not as insane as you think
