You can see the smoke in the air in North Jersey. I have not heard of events being cancelled. This is graduation season for many schools so I am sure there is some conversation on the subject.

Any chance any of the upcoming games will be postponed due to air quality?
That is a good question. Mrs Quiz and I were commenting on the eerie yellow sky last night and she suggested I stop clearing land for few days to let the smoke dissipate. We can still smell the fire in the air.
I read there are 160 fires in Quebec and the smoke will migrate as far as newinn's home in SC!

Last night's game looked like they were playing in a dark London fog.

I'm by the shore in NJ, it is very smokey. Plus we had a forest fire about 7 miles away yesterday.

Billy McKinney being recalled to take Judges spot while on IL. A somewhat surprising move to me and one I'm not overly excited about.

guess that says how they feel about florial. mckinney's slashing .274/.388/.511 with nine home runs and 25 RBI in 40 games, which is decent but florial's been putting up better numbers.

The way the Cashman Yankees have treated Florial, even as he continues his AAA offensive rampage, strikes me as not just wrong but worse than that. Yes, he failed to perform well in his several but spotty major-league call-ups. But he never was given the chance to play regularly that, say, Volpe is receiving, and thus to correct or overcome his failures. Could he have done so, esp. given his strikeout propensity? I don't know. I hope he gets a chance to play regularly elsewhere next year, if only to prove the Cashman Yankees right or wrong. As it stands, if I were a young ballplayer, I'd think twice before--if I had them--surrendering my opportunities to play in Cashman's present minor league system.

And p.s., What will Cashman now do with Dominguez, who's sinking in offense like the Titanic? Another 0-fer last night. He hitting at AA what Volpe's hitting in the Show. Trade him away?

The Yankees continue to tout Dominguez as the next great Yankee. The spin on him from friendly outlets is putting the emphasis on his more recent success. Of course, I recall the same treatment regarding Jesus Montero. www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/yankees-sta...

Yep, and you can't even use the he's not on the 40 man roster excuse anymore as they had to make a move to add McKinney before the callup.
