This doesn't bode well for Rortvedt

When your ace have issues with you, it won't end well. Especially when Cole is in sync with Higashioka. As reported.....

interesting because rortvedt has caught every one of cole's starts since he came up, apparently replacing higgy as cole's "personal" catcher - you'd have to assume because he liked pitching to him. and cole has always been complimentary in post-game interviews. in fact after the game in question said, "ben was on it today reading the hitters really well" and not mentioning the scary incident.

guess it will be interesting who catches cole friday. boone had said wells was gonna catch cole at some point this season, so perhaps it starts friday - incident or no incident. my take has been that rortvedt has shown zero offensively and would be the odd man out next season with wells making the team and trevino & higgy fighting it out for the other slot.

while it "could" be right on, in general i put very little stock in these blogger's posts. they are fans like the rest of us possessing no special knowledge or insights and possibly a case of him making something out of nothing. while it looked "heated", the clip was taken out of context. who knows what  happened next. and to show how worthless these blogs are, at one time "our own" jon, had a call-in show i believe on public access in nyc called "talkin yankees." can you imagine ...

in any case, unless he showed some something, which he hasn't, never felt rotvedt was in the running for 2024.

I don't think Wells will be on the team in 2024 barring 2 injuries.

Interesting article, up to reading this I had heard they were in sync with each other. Article also eludes to a Bader-Bauer issue and a continual decline in Team chemistry. Hope that last part is overstated and these are isolated incidents. It did have me wondering though if chemistry had anything to do with Bader's release.

Odd, Cole and Rortvedt seemed to be very much in sync, at least in the game calling department.

Not sure how much this play might have soured that relationship.   Will be interesting to see who gets the start as C for Cole's next game.

I still kind of expect Higgy to walk ala Romine and one of Wells/Rortvedt to get the backup job next year.

It's BS ... Some punk spinning a couple of clips and images trying to stir up a fake controversey

If you look at the twitter clip it's pretty obvious they were having a positive conversation

could be wrong but that's how i see it. took a clip out of context and made a big thing out of it. 10 sec later they could have been shaking hands or hi-fiving. all indications until this incident were that they were doing fine together w cole making a point to compliment rortvedt after every outing. while this season has certainly brought frustration all around, NONE of us know what goes on in the clubhouse.

again wouldn't be surprised to see wells catching cole tomorrow. and next spring, expect a battle between all 4 for the 2 catching spots w rortvedt bringing up the rear.

Ben can't hit.

Wells and Trevino will split catching duties next year

If Rizzo were to still be out I could almost see Wells getting time at 1b and both he and Rortvedt making the team.

I am hoping "Uncle" Ben Rice breaks through next year and takes over 1b if Rizzo isn't back.

Rizzo provides good defense and is a good guy in the clubhouse and is signed through next year with a club option for 2025.

Rizzo is keeping the seat warm for this guy who will be posted after 2025.
