interesting because rortvedt has caught every one of cole's starts since he came up, apparently replacing higgy as cole's "personal" catcher - you'd have to assume because he liked pitching to him. and cole has always been complimentary in post-game interviews. in fact after the game in question said, "ben was on it today reading the hitters really well" and not mentioning the scary incident.
guess it will be interesting who catches cole friday. boone had said wells was gonna catch cole at some point this season, so perhaps it starts friday - incident or no incident. my take has been that rortvedt has shown zero offensively and would be the odd man out next season with wells making the team and trevino & higgy fighting it out for the other slot.
while it "could" be right on, in general i put very little stock in these blogger's posts. they are fans like the rest of us possessing no special knowledge or insights and possibly a case of him making something out of nothing. while it looked "heated", the clip was taken out of context. who knows what happened next. and to show how worthless these blogs are, at one time "our own" jon, had a call-in show i believe on public access in nyc called "talkin yankees." can you imagine ...
in any case, unless he showed some something, which he hasn't, never felt rotvedt was in the running for 2024.
