been in his corner since he came up last season. struggled, then played well, struggled in the PS. disappointed when he struggled again this season but has played well over the last month.

this interview clip gives an interesting view into who he is. he talks about players he looked up to and mentions jeter, omar vizquel and miguel cabrera. but surprisingly his hero is marwin gonzalez. says a lot about oswaldo, what's important to him and his own expectations. very likeable, humble kid.

If he could field like Vizquel and hit like Miguel Cabrera, he would be one of the greatest players of all time!!!

if OCab can miraculously become a .260 hitter next year, he'd be so useful as a utility guy.

On this team hitting .260 is a god send. Last I looked we had one starter Torres at .271 hitting over .260. I will give Judge the benefit due to injury but when you have 7 out of 9 guys hitting below .240 no chance of winning.

Nope, just that it's not determinative alone of what a hitter can do.

Roger Maris only hit .269 when he hit 61 home runs, I'd love a lineup of sub .270 hitters like that.

uh .269 is a lot better than schwarber's .197/44, or stanton's .193/24 or gallo's .177/21 w a 43% K rate. and btw maris K'ed only 67 times (9.6%). you're talking apples and and mangos.
