Good time to deal Torres to a contender this winter. So many teams out there that need an offensive 2B. Mariners and Marlins just to name a couple that could use his bat. Maybe they can DH him.
I would like for the Yankees to find a way to have both Soto and Torres in their lineup, but if I'm correct that it's going to cost the Yankees 22-25 million a year to re-sign Torres they will probably trade him or let him walk after the 2024 season.
Yankees can't make the same mistake with Torres that they did with Cano 10 years ago. If they wanted to sign him they would have by now although that is not the norm but they have done it in the past with Severino and Hicks. Yankees know they can slide Peraza at 2B and also have DJ on the roster who is a GG caliber player. Yankees could add Soto, Bellinger and Yamamoto if they can move Rizzo in a deal for Soto and then trade Torres and reallocate those funds.

I was just wondering if you thought the Yankees should trade Torres?

OMG ? Yankees would be one of them if they traded Torres ! By the way Mariners and Marlins were better offensive teams then the Yankees this past season ... They would've been great with Gleyber and the Yankees would have been the worst offense in the MLB

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Would the reason be... A) He's so good he'll bring a haul in return? B) He's so bad he's a detriment to the team? C) He's so good he'll be too expensive?
In my opinion, the Yankees shouldn't trade Torres. But I think they will either trade him this off season, trade him during the season, or let him walk after the 2024 season. Another thing to keep in mind is that if the Yankees are looking to trade Torres, they have competition if the Reds are looking to trade Johnathan India. Torres is in his contract season, but India won't be a free agent until 2027. Plus, India right now has a team friendly contract.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I've mentioned India as a possible Yankee acquisition. Yanks should add, not subtract, young talent.
