The Yankees have produced this year, regardless of the numerous injuries to their promary players. Joe Girardi has managed the Team exceptionally. They are in a great spot to take over the division, now that the Captain and other are coming back tot he team.

Looks like I will be able to catch a Spring Training game after all this year. I have to travel and work in Miami for two weeks in March. Of course, this will cover a weekend where the Yankees are playing the Twins on 13 March. I WILL BE THERE!!! Oh yes. GO YANKEES!!

Now that all the major players have been assigned to teams, the Yankees can concentrate on their current roster and get ready for the 2011 Season. They will definitely be one of the contending teams this year. Looking forward to season an awesome season. GO YANKEES!!!

I'm so glad that the Yankees didn't sign Cliff Lee. They don't need to purchase every decent pitcher in Baseball. Look at what happened last year. AJ Burnett was below average with all they spent on him. I'm actually glad that other owners are finally starting to spend the money for good players, instead of putting it in their pockets and complaining that the Yankees buy their World Series. Cliff Lee will be taken down by the Yankees when they play the Phillies on 2011.

The New York Yankees and Derek Jeter need to come to an agreement on this contract issue. He is the Yankee Captain and that should be enough to agree on something. What organization will allow their Captain to look at the free agent market. I also believe that the image that Derek has presented over his years as a Yankee, does not match the money that is being requested. He should respect the initial offer and play the game of Baseball. Who needs more than 15 million dollars a year? What does he plan on doing, buying a country?

I can't wait to see what next year's roster looks like. I certainly hope that they retain the majority of their crrent roster. The Team made things happen this year, even though they went through some loss stints that were out of character with the talent that they have. 2011 will be a World Series bid for the Yankees. It's just unknown as to whom they will play against.
GO YANKEES!!!

The Yankee organization needs to take care of the player that makes them a powerhouse in the game of baseball. Not only in talent, but in the image of the game. Derek Jeter is a reflection of the heritage of what baseball represents. His actions and demeanor on and off the field define professionalism to his game. The New York Yankees need to do what is takes to keep their Captain. The Captian will not misuse his position in this situation.
There will be a positive end for both parties.

The Yankees had 3 Gold Gloves this Year! Congratulations to Derek Jeter, Robinson Cano, and Mark Teixeira. Brett Gardner should've been a Gold Glove recipient as well, because he only had 1 error in the outfield. I guess he didn't have enough games. Looking forward to seeing who gets it next year, along with the World Series.

The Yankees need to quit focusing on Cliff Lee and work on getting their existing players solidified. Free up quite a bit of money by getting rid of AJ Burnett. Send him to another team in the American League, because that would be a guaranteed win when he pitches against them next year. hahahaha

It's good to see that the Yankees are not opting for a few players to continue to collect money and not produce. CYA Nick Johnson, You show up, don't produce, then get hurt. What a waste. I didn't like the idea that he was picked up in the beginning. Lance Berkman....Mr. Produceless for the longest time. He finally gets a little bit together in the end. Too Late!!! Kerry Wood!! Not sure if the Yankees should get rid of him. He did great and should replace AJ Burnett somehow. Let Wood stay and do what he does and just move one of the younger pitchers into Burnetts spot. There,,,,,,,,I have said my peace.

I'm not sure if firing Rich Eiland is going to solve the weak pitching in the playoffs. After all, Rich isn't pitching the baseball at all. He doesn't control the release or speed of the ball. He doesn't control AJ Burnett's wild ptiches either. The best move for the Yankees would've been, firing Burnett instead.
The coaches just assist in the guidance of the players. They don't play the game. Even if a coach makes decision on a particular approach......he doesn't play the game. It's in the hands of the playeres.

It's sad to see that a true fan of the Yankees has passed. Every game I went to at the stadium, there was Freddie. He was one of a kind fan and a fixture at the stadium. I would hope that the Steinbrenners identify him in some way or form.
Freddy will be missed.
